POWERPIGGY BATTERY GUIDES

Home battery storage,
built around your day.

Store electricity for the hours you need it

A grid-connected home battery lets you buy electricity during a suitable lower-priced charging window and use it later. It can also store surplus electricity from compatible solar panels. Solar panels are not required for grid charging. The opportunity depends on the difference between your charging rate and the price you would otherwise pay, as well as how much stored power your household uses.

Size the system around real life

Usable capacity, measured in kWh, tells you how much electricity can be stored. Output, measured in kW, tells you how much power the system can supply at once. An electric shower or several appliances running together can exceed an inverter’s output even if the battery is full. Ask for both figures rather than relying on a claim that a battery runs for a set number of hours.

What a home installation needs to consider

Your electricity supply, existing solar equipment, cable routes and a suitable installation location need assessment. Your installer should explain the network connection process and relevant electrical and fire-safety requirements. Not all batteries work in a power cut, but the systems we install include automatic backup, so stored power takes over when the grid goes down.

What to prepare for your quote

Have a recent electricity bill, your tariff rates and any smart-meter usage available. Mention solar panels, electric heating and any future plans that may change demand. Your proposal should state the battery and inverter models, usable capacity, installed cost, warranty conditions and whether backup is included. Equipment specifications and appointment availability are confirmed as part of an individual proposal.
